Playgroup, we have returned!!!

It has been a while since we've made it to playgroup. With being pregnant, having a baby, and moving a little farther away, it just hasn't worked out for us. But WE ARE BACK! And I hope to make it playgroup from now on.
At playgroup this week we made smoothies! For more pictures go to: http://mandarinsecondplaygroup.blogspot.com/

Sooo BIG!!!

Is someone feeding my baby Miracle Grow because he is getting SO BIG!!! While dressing Marcus this morning I decided that instead of pulling and tugging to get the snaps to line up, I should probably try an outfit the next size up. Wow, I forgot how easy it's supposed to be to dress my child, and how much more comfortable he looks now that he's not in a super tight onesie. I can't believe it though, he's not even three months yet and he's wearing size 6-9months! I guess that's what happens when you start out at 9 1/2 pounds! Completely different experience than with Caleb (who started at not even 6 pounds).

Not only is Marcus growing so big, but he's also getting stronger. Even though he's been pretty good at holding his head up since birth, he could only hold it up for a certain amount of time and was still a little wobbly. He has no problem with that now. He's getting pretty close to being able to sit up by himself, and he can hold himself in a standing position by gripping only our hands. He rolled over (from back to belly) for the first time yesterday. His little arm was stuck underneath him, but at least he finally got over and was laying flat on his stomach (he'd been trying to get over that arm for a couple weeks now). He can also scoot himself across the floor all by himself now. He moves very slowly, but nevertheless, inch by inch he moves. The doctor was pretty impressed by his strength when he tried to crawl off the examination table at his last appointment. He's only 2
1/2 months, but I feel like my little baby isn't much of a baby anymore. I know I still have a while, but I feel like in the blink of an eye my boys will be grown up and going on missions and leaving their mommy behind. I guess I should relish in these moments when my kiddies still need me.

Rewind: Visitors from Hawaii...

Lets rewind back a couple of months. Here are some pictures my mom sent me that I've been meaning to post.

Here's a picture of Caleb holding his brand new baby brother (back when Caleb needed a haircut and Marcus was still pink):

While grandma and grandpa were here, this is how we started our mornings... every morning:

Here are some shots of our crazy drivers...:

...and our silly riders:

The weather was horrible the whole time my family was here. All it did was rain, rain, RAIN! We made our way out to Orlando one day and had a little more luck with the weather.

We stopped by to see the temple and it stopped raining just long enough to get a picture in:

Of course we had to stop by Chick-Fil-A for lunch:

We also walked around Down Town Disney which was pretty fun:

We enjoyed having family here. Come visit again soon!

How many pizzas can you fit in your fridge???

This year for Caleb's birthday we decided to do a pool party again. But instead of having the same exact food as we did last year, we decided pizza's would be fun. But not just any pizza... homemade pizza. I made all the pizzas the night before, stuck them in some pizza boxes I got from a local pizza shop, and did some major rearranging in the fridge to get them all to fit. We made 5 different kinds of pizza--there was cheese, pepperoni, ham and pineapple, BBQ chicken, and supreme. I'm excited to say that they were all quite delicious (with the exception of one BBQ chicken pizza that some how baked unevenly).

For party favors, I made mini pizza boxes and put cookies in them.

We had lots of fun swimming, chatting, and chowing down as the littlest ones slept.

With all the excitement I forgot that not only do the littlest ones need naps, but the birthday boy also requires a nap. I didn't schedule one in, but this should've been my first clue that I had forgot something:

When it was about time to do cake and ice cream, this is what happened:

He wasn't able to get in much shut eye before we disturbed the poor tuckered out birthday boy (which later reflected that night--yikes!). And for some reason I didn't think to take a picture of his cake before we cut it up, but you can see it here in this video of us singing "Happy Birthday" to him.

(...and,yes, Caleb is only 3. There were multiple candles on the cake because that's how it came decorated.)

Swords!!!

Swords, swords, swords!!! I hear this word all day long. If Caleb's not asking to play swords, he wants to watch swords. The other day Caleb was browsing through our movie selection. He then found the movie 300. He noticed the sword on the cover and started begging me to watch it. I've never seen this movie, but I'm absolutely certain it's not something Caleb should be watching. So to satisfy his sword hunger I asked him if he'd rather watch The Princess Bride, as I showed him that this movie also has a sword on the cover. He agreed, and I put the movie in for him. Caleb absolutely loved it! He went and grabbed his sword and was fencing along with the movie. I wish I grabbed the video camera instead of just the camera, but I was busy busy busy trying to get things ready for his party (...which is also why the pictures aren't that great. I had to just shoot some shots real quick and get back to my business).

Cheering for the movie...

Modeling his sheath...

Caleb's fencing moves...

Too much action...

(By the way... Caleb does own a pair of pants. I promise. But who needs pants to play around the house?!)
